Bringing Authentic Australian Beef and Lamb to the UK

Are you a foodie? Do you love to explore new flavours and cuisines? Then you need to know about the amazing Australian beef and lamb available in the UK!

As Australians, we are privileged to enjoy an abundance of natural resources and a varied climate. We are proud of our farmers, who have the utmost respect for our land and our animals. Their focus on doing things the “right” way, the “best” way, helps bring peace of mind and pure enjoyment to the dining experience.

For over two centuries, Australian farmers have been perfecting their skills and knowledge to create a world-class meat and livestock industry brimming with tradition. Our world-leading supply chain, together with the advantages of raising animals in an unspoiled environment, has underpinned Australia’s reputation for producing some of the highest-quality beef and lamb. And now you can experience the unique and delicious flavours of Aussie red meat for yourself.

Why Should You Buy Australian Beef?

Australia has the means to produce substantial amounts of very consistently good beef meat, which is renowned for its taste and superior cookability. Our beef is particularly flavoursome and travels extremely well, so you don't need to worry about the quality, whatever the time of year.

With nearly 29 million head of cattle, our breeds are divided into two main varieties - temperate breeds and tropical breeds. Temperate breeds of cattle are generally European-derived breeds such as Hereford and Angus. Cattle of this variety are normally found in the southern parts of the country, where the climate is milder, and the land is fertile. Tropical breeds of cattle are ideal for Australia’s northern areas with their monsoon rains in the summer.

Grain-fed beef start their lives in lush pastures and have been fed nutritionally balanced, high-energy finished rations. This feeding regime results in a more consistent product and enhanced beef marbling that contributes to improved tenderness, juiciness, and flavour.

The Australian beef industry produces some of the finest beef in the world, including high-quality grass-fed beef, grain-fed beef, organic beef, and breed-specific products such as Wagyu beef and Angus.

Farmers, suppliers, producers, and manufacturers associated with Aussie Beef & Lamb UK must meet strict criteria across food safety, sustainability, quality assurance, beef welfare, beef traceability, and grading.

We have a unique beef grading system where grades are specific to each cut. So instead of a single grade for an entire carcase, each piece of meat gets its grade based on the cut and intended cooking method.

And what About Australian Lamb?

As the popularity of lamb continues to grow, we can meet the demand with a range of cuts and products available throughout the year.

Australia has nearly 75 million head of sheep that are divided into two main categories: wool and meat. Meat breeds are commonly Border Leicester, Suffolk, Dorset, Texel and Dorper, quite often crossed with Merinos. Sheep of these breeds are most prevalent in the Southern part of the country.

Australian lamb has the ‘all-natural advantage’. Most Australian lambs (around 90%) are raised exclusively on pasture. As the demand for natural, wholesome foods increases, Australian grass-fed lamb is being seen as an important part of a healthy diet as it is naturally low in fat and cholesterol.

Lamb animal welfare and lamb traceability are core values of our meat producers, you can read more about this in our blog dedicated to Australian lamb.

With retail and food service operators requiring naturally raised, free-range, pasture-raised lamb, grass-fed lamb, and high-quality, table-ready lamb with no added hormones, Aussie Beef & Lamb allows them to bring the best of Australia to their diners' plates.

Producing Halal Beef and Lamb for the Muslim Community in the UK

Many of our beef and lamb producers adhere to the humane standards required to produce Halal beef and Halal lamb.

Halal beef and Halal lamb are slaughtered under the Australian Government Supervised Halal Program by accredited Muslims and the program is administered by the Federal Department of Agriculture.
