Aussie Beef & Lamb in the Spotlight at IFE London 2023

The new Aussie Beef & Lamb logo was unveiled at the International Food & Drink Event (IFE) held at ExCeL London over three days in March 2023.

 

IFE is the leading UK event for food & drink professionals. It is an annual event running for over 40 years.  In 2023 the event attracted over 27,000 visitors from 102 countries.  

Australian Red Meat Exporters and Free Trade Agreement 

Aussie Beef & Lamb UK featured amongst a wide range of Australian food and beverage brands exhibiting in the Austrade pavilion.  Like other Australian brands, Aussie Beef & Lamb UK are promoting new export opportunities within the UK market following the  Australia – UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) coming into force on 31st May 2023.    

The A-UKFTA creates new export opportunities for Australia, particularly for the Australian red meat industry and UK meat distributors, retailers, and restaurants.  

Australian Meat Industry on Display

Aussie Beef & Lamb and four Australian red meat exporters showcased different types of high-quality beef and lamb available in the UK. The types of beef included grain fed beef ribeye steak and sirloin steak. They also presented grass fed lamb.  Visitors were also able to sample Australian Wagyu steak freshly grilled fresh on the stand, Aussie BBQ style.

Stephen Edwards of Meat & Livestock Australia - UK said, “It was great to unveil the new Aussie Beef & Lamb logo and to meet new and existing customers of Australian Beef and Lamb in person and share some delicious Aussie beef and lamb tasters.

Known for very consistent product quality, grassfed and grainfed Australian beef offers a competitive alternative to South American imports, particularly for Chefs in the UK food service industry looking for the best quality steak.  One of the exporters on the stand commented, “People know about Aussie beef and lamb, but don’t realise just how much red meat is exported – over 60% of all the red meat produced annually which was around 925,000MT in 2022.
