CHEF DATO WONG YEW KAI Putera’s Lamb Satay

Tender marinated lamb cubes grilled on skewers until golden and slightly charred, served with fresh cucumber and onion for a delicious barbecue treat.

Ingredients

  • 1kg lamb leg, cut into small cubes (8-10g per piece)
  • 5g Turmeric powder
  • 5g Cumin powder
  • 5g Fennel powder
  • 5g Coriander powder
  • 1g Chilli powder
  • 100g Lemongrass juice
  • 8g Salt
  • 100g Sugar
  • 50 Bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 1 hour

Method

  1. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly by hand for 5 minutes.
  2. Marinate the lamb for at least 6 hours.
  3. Thread the marinated lamb onto the skewers.
  4. Barbecue the skewers using a charcoal grill, oven, or gas stove until the satay turns golden brown with some char marks.
  5. Serve with sliced cucumber and onion.
